West Shore Community College is pleased to welcome Makenna Ingle as the new Michigan State University Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) Program Coordinator at the college’s Scottville campus.
In her new role, Ingle will serve as a bridge between educational programs, community partners and the agricultural industry, helping expand access to practical, hands-on agricultural education while strengthening connections throughout the region.
Ingle brings five years of experience teaching agricultural science at Montague Public Schools, where she developed and delivered high school agricultural education curriculum while also serving as an FFA advisor.
As MSU IAT Program Coordinator, Ingle’s initial priorities will include supporting students enrolled in the Institute of Agricultural Technology program, strengthening relationships with community and industry partners, collaborating on program delivery and identifying opportunities to grow agricultural education offerings that meet regional workforce needs.
“I am excited to join the West Shore Community College community and continue building strong connections between students, agriculture and our local communities,” said Ingle. “Agriculture offers incredible career opportunities, and I look forward to helping students gain the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to succeed while working alongside our partners to strengthen agricultural education across the region.”
Beyond the classroom, Ingle serves on the Board of Directors for the Mason-Lake Conservation District, providing additional opportunities to connect educational programming with local conservation efforts and community needs. She has also taught a variety of agricultural science courses through Michigan State University, further expanding her experience in higher education.
The Michigan State University Institute of Agricultural Technology offers career-focused certificate programs that combine classroom instruction with hands-on learning, preparing students for in-demand careers in Michigan’s agricultural and natural resources industries. Through its partnership with Michigan State University, West Shore Community College provides local access to these specialized educational opportunities, helping meet workforce needs while supporting the region’s agricultural economy.
