West Shore Community College will host “Culpability and Consequence: A Conversation with Bruce Holsinger” on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 9:30 a.m. at the college’s Center Stage Theater.
The event is part of HumanKind, West Shore Community College’s cultural arts series, offering a diverse range of programming throughout the year, including presentations, workshops, film screenings, art exhibitions, and performing arts events. This year’s theme, “Technology and Humanity,” invites the campus and community to consider how technology influences human choices and our interactions with each other.
Author and scholar Bruce Holsinger will lead a conversation examining culpability, responsibility and consequence, offering attendees an opportunity to consider these questions through the lens of contemporary technology and its impact on humanity.
“HumanKind gives us an opportunity to pause and consider the ways technology is changing what it means to be human,” said Patti Skinner, Director of Library Services and member of the HumanKind committee. “Holsinger’s work provides a compelling starting point for conversations about responsibility, choice and the outcomes of the decisions we make in an increasingly technological world.”
