West Shore Community College student Alaina White has been named a 2025 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar, an honor awarded based on her top score in the All-USA Academic Team competition. Out of nearly 2,100 applications, White earned the highest score in the State of Michigan, securing this prestigious recognition. The program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, with additional support from the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa.
As a New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar, White will be recognized at the Annual Phi Theta Kappa President’s Breakfast during the AACC Convention on Tues., April 15, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee.
“I am very excited and honored to receive the 2025 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholarship,” said Alaina. “This award will help me pursue my Bachelor of Science degree at Grand Valley State University this next fall. My goal is to pursue a career as an environmental scientist and consultant to help lead companies toward sustainable practices. I am very thankful for my time at WSCC and how well it has prepared me to take this next step on my journey.”
