Led by Donna Norkoli and Erin Oleniczak from District Health Department #10 and Kianna DeHoek from Central Michigan District Health Department, this discussion will highlight findings from a recent focus group study on barriers to social connection. The research focused on individuals with disabilities, older adults, and low-income populations, shaping a Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) Accelerator Plan aimed at fostering stronger, more connected communities. “Understanding these challenges helps us create a society where everyone feels valued and supported,” said Patti Skinner, WSCC director of library services. “By working together, we can create more inclusive and connected communities.”
