Just in time for the holidays, West Shore Community College is sponsoring several holiday musical performances throughout the area.
The Wind Symphony and Percussion Ensemble will perform music arranged for the wind band, from the classical and holiday repertoire, on Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m., at Ludington High School, Peterson Auditorium.
The 70-voice Concert Choir will perform a variety of choral music for the holiday season on Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m., in the Center Stage Theater.
There is no admission charge to attend the symphony or choir concerts.
The college’s Performing Arts Series will feature one of West Michigan’s favorite musical sons when it presents Edgar Struble’s “A Nashville Family Christmas,” on Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at Ludington High School’s Peterson Auditorium.
Audiences will have the opportunity to hear some of the best country music artists in the world performing holiday-themed favorites that will captivate audiences of all ages. The country vocalists and instrumentalists who have been invited to perform for this concert have recorded and performed with Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, Sara Evans, and the Grand Ole Opry band.
Pictures with Santa and holiday treats will be available free of charge to all children with proof of purchase of concert tickets an hour and a half before and after each show. Also, family four-pack group rates are available when purchasing online tickets or at the WSCC Box Office.
An advanced ticket reservation is recommended as both performances are expected to sell out. Tickets for the concert are available here, www.mynorthtickets.com or the WSCC Box Office by calling 843-5507.
