West Shore Community College is preparing for another outstanding season of entertainment with the announcement of its 2026-2027 Performing Arts Series, featuring acclaimed authors, national touring acts, theater productions, jazz, comedy and more. From intimate performances to full-scale theatrical productions, the season offers a wide variety of experiences for audiences of all ages at venues throughout the region.
The season gets underway in September with Bruce Holsinger, award-winning novelist and author of Culpability, an Oprah’s Book Club pick. Holsinger will appear at West Shore Community College’s Center Stage Theater on Sept. 9 for a free, all-ages event, offering audiences an opportunity to hear from a nationally recognized author and educator.
Music takes center stage Sept. 11 when “1964”…The Tribute brings the music and energy of an early 1960s Beatles concert to the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts. Known for its meticulous re-creation of the Beatles’ instruments, clothing, hairstyles and onstage style, the group has been performing together for more than two decades.
In late October and early November, the WSCC Theatre department presents The Wizard of Oz at Center Stage Theater. This beloved story follows Dorothy, Toto and their unforgettable friends along the Yellow Brick Road in a production filled with music, colorful characters, imaginative sets and timeless themes of courage, friendship and home. Special Halloween-themed activities will also accompany the production.
On Nov. 20, the Steven Page Trio will be at the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts. Page, former co-founder, vocalist and songwriter for Barenaked Ladies, brings decades of songwriting and performing experience to the stage, joined by guitarist Craig Northey and cellist Kevin Fox.
A regional holiday tradition returns December 5-6 with WSCC Holiday Rock Spectacular V. Now in its fifth installment, the popular production transforms Center Stage Theater into a full-scale rock concert featuring an all-star cast of musicians, concert-style lighting, special effects and energetic interpretations of holiday classics, rock favorites and more.
The spring lineup continues with WSCC Theatre’s production of The Secret Garden, a moving story of friendship, discovery, resilience and renewal based on the beloved novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
Jazz fans will not want to miss the Michigan State University Bebop Spartans on Feb. 4 at Ludington High School’s Peterson Auditorium. Led by Professor Rodney Whitaker, the nationally recognized collegiate jazz ensemble will share the stage with WSCC Jazz Band I for an evening of big band favorites, contemporary standards and outstanding student musicianship.
The season concludes with a dose of laughter and amazement when Derek Hughes, a celebrated “stand-up magician,” performs at Center Stage Theater March 19. Hughes has appeared on Comedy Central, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and America’s Got Talent, bringing comedy and sleight of hand together in a unique live performance.
Both the winter and spring seasons feature free performances by the WSCC Wind Symphony & Percussion Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Jazz Ensemble I & II, providing audiences with opportunities to experience the musical talents of WSCC students and musicians from throughout the region.
