The West Shore Community College Art Department will host the 26th annual Regional High School Art Exhibition, titled “Freedom of Choice/Free Will”, beginning May 6, in the college’s Manierre Dawson Gallery. Student artwork will be displayed through May 24.

Sponsored by the West Shore Community College Foundation and the WSCC Art Department, this year’s exhibition focuses on celebrating our young local talent.

Area high schools were invited to enter works by students and those included in the exhibit were selected by high school art teachers.

“We are hosting Mason County Eastern, Mason County Central, and Pentwater high schools,” said WSCC Professor of Art Eden Ünlüata – Foley. “This year we developed the exhibition around a theme like professionally curated exhibitions often do.  Teachers and students decided which of the works best represent the theme.”

The Manierre Dawson Gallery is located in the Arts and Sciences Center.  The gallery is open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
