Nursing Career Day

Nursing Career Day (NCD), an annual event sponsored by West Shore Community College’ s Nursing and Allied Health Division, was held yesterday in the college’s Tech Center Atrium.
Now in its 20th year, NCD is designed to create a forum for WSCC nursing students and alumni to connect with employers, particularly hospitals, healthcare-related organizations, as well as undergraduate and graduate schools of nursing.
“This event is organized by the Nursing 260 (RN) students and always offers an opportunity to make helpful contacts, whether a nursing job search is for the immediate future or a little further out,” stated the college’s Director of Nursing and Allied Health Shelley Boes.
“It gives our students an opportunity to speak with prospective employers and colleges for those students wishing to further their education beyond West Shore. Many students have found employment from this event and the students have been busy preparing their resumes and thinking about questions they might ask of the vendors related to education or employment.”
Twenty five hospitals, healthcare-related organizations, and colleges were represented at this year’s event. The event is organized specifically for graduating RN students. First level nursing students, M.A. students, CNA, and CTE Allied Health students were also invited.
