West Shore Community College is excited to announce “Connecting through Nature: Campus Hike and Tea Tasting” led by Professor of Biology Dr. Paul Bilinski, on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 1:00 –2:00 p.m. This interactive event invites participants to meet in the Arts and Science Center, Room 139, at 1:00 p.m. for a selection of hot and cold teas, followed by a walk around the WSCC pond to explore local flora.
Dr. Bilinski will guide attendees in a discussion of how plants and fungi can offer insights into human experiences, particularly addressing themes of connection and loneliness in nature. Participants will learn to identify local plant life and discover examples of natural communities thriving around the campus.
One of Dr. Bilinski’s students shared, “Paul is a highly respected and loved professor at WSCC. I didn’t need to, but I’ve taken every one of his classes and thoroughly enjoyed them. He teaches you how to think through difficult processes and learn the material, not just memorize a concept.”
