Accuplacer Placement Testing At WSCC
Most students at WSCC complete placement through the Guided Self-Placement (GSP) survey. However, some students may choose to take the Accuplacer as an additional option.
Accuplacer may be helpful if you:
- Have been out of school for a while and want to know where you stand academically.
- Don’t have recent academic records (like transcripts or test scores).
- Would like another measure of your skills to guide your English or math course choices.
What To Expect
- Accuplacer is a computer-based test.
- Sections may include reading, writing, and math, depending on your academic goals.
- Results are available immediately and should be reviewed with an advisor.
- Individuals who do not achieve the desired score on their first attempt are allowed to take the test up to two additional times per semester. The initial Accuplacer attempt is free, while each subsequent section retake incurs a $5 fee.
Before You Test
- You’ll need a WSCC student ID number before scheduling Accuplacer.
- Apply to WSCC first to receive your ID number.

- Testing is offered through the Testing Center.
