Financial Needs

The Community Resources Coordinator at WSCC is a United Way of Mason County employee who helps connect WSCC students to community resources on an as needed basis. Students start here; if community are not available to meet the student’s need, referral is made to Director of Student Access & Resources.

It is important to note that community resources change and there are not always resources to assist with every need, including those listed here. The Community Resources Coordinator works closely with WSCC Student Services staff to look at other options at WSCC should there be no community resource available to help the student.

While the Director of Student Access & Resources can assist with many needs listed above, there are some restrictions around use of funding provided by the college, so the Community Resources Coordinator is the first point of contact. Students must be enrolled in classes during the semester in which they are requesting assistance; eligibility determined by Financial Aid Office.

Mental Health Support

WSCC hosts mental health support services for our students. We can assist with many issues including:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Stress
  • Trauma

We can also refer people with long-term needs to professionals dedicated to each of the following:
  • Addiction & substance use
  • Eating Disorders

WSCC pays for accounts for all students, and students can activate their TalkCampus accounts by downloading the TalkCampus app on their smart phones and use their WSCC email to sign up.
