Nominate a deserving student for a transformative summer experience at West Shore Community College

Discover College Edge, a groundbreaking summer program at West Shore Community College designed to give recent high school graduates the support they need to succeed in college and beyond. Through a unique blend of academic coaching, community building, and thrilling adventures, students receive VIP support and a brand-new laptop, all at no cost. Join us in making a difference in the lives of young adults who faced educational challenges during the pandemic.

Qualifications
  • Graduated high school (home school ok!) 2021 and after.
  • Could benefit from building confidence and joining a positive community.
  • Will show up to at least 3 of the 4 adventures and all of the 2 week academy.
  • Wants to have the best summer ever!
About College Edge

College Edge is tailored for students who graduated in the last three years, offering a comprehensive summer program to counteract pandemic-related learning setbacks. Participants will enjoy community learning experiences, skill-building opportunities, and acquire knowledge to boost their college readiness.

Key Dates

  • June 6: College Edge Kick-off
  • June 11: Adventure at Ludington St. Park
  • June 27: MI Adventure Trip
  • July 10: Rafting and/or Art on the River
  • July 25: College Edge Cruise
  • Academy Dates: August 5-16, Monday to Friday, 9:15am-2:30pm
FAQs
  • What is College Edge? A free summer program for recent high school graduates to gain an edge in college readiness through academics and adventures.
  • Who can be nominated? Any student who graduated from high school in the last three years, including homeschoolers, especially those overcoming barriers.
  • How does the nomination process work? Fill in the online form with the student’s details. Nominations are assessed continually until all spots are filled.
