Spring Chorale Debuts

The Gold Coast Chorale, West Shore Community College’s newest musical ensemble featuring more than 28 voices under the direction of Elliot Plummer, will present its debut concert on Mon., May 14, at 7:30 p.m., in the Center Stage Theater on the WSCC campus.
The spring concert will feature seasonal music focusing on a wide variety of choral repertoire with an emphasis on contemporary choral literature.
The Gold Coast Chorale is an auditioned community vocal ensemble offered through WSCC. Currently, the ensemble has singers ranging from advanced high school students to seasoned community members. Members are drawn from a three county area–Mason, Lake and Oceana counties.
“It is our vision to see this ensemble promote a deeper love of singing at West Shore Community College, in our local schools, and within our communities,” states the choir’s conductor, Elliot Plummer. He adds, “We desire to set the standard of choral excellence and be at the forefront of choral artistry by drawing from our communities finest singers.”
The Gold Coast Chorale features sopranos Eliza Kriz, Ana McCallum, Jennifer Zeller, Dani Stansell, Lorynn Hackert, Beverly Davies, LeAnna Engwall, and Betsy Reed; altos Hannah Plummer, Erin Thibault, Ashlynn Hance, Veronica Surber, Katie Miller, Mikayla Collins, Margreta Dumas, Melissa Davis, and Michelle Kiessel.
The tenors include Sean Gilbert, Dylan Dickenson, Brandon Beaver, Edward Martin, and Josiah Bandstra; and basses Hunter Brown, Gavin Morgan, Case Pease, John Gerts, Alan Erikson, and Jake Bergmann.
Plummer says that, “The ensemble is incredibly exciting to me professionally, because it gives vocalists in our communities another opportunity to perform high quality choral literature. Having an auditioned vocal ensemble at the college helps enhance the character of the college music program, and breeds healthy competition in area vocal musicians. I am honored to get to work with these incredibly talented musicians every week.”
Tickets can be purchased online or by phone at 231-843-5507, or from the Schoenherr Campus Center Book Store.
Tickets will also be available one hour before the concert in the Center Stage Theater lobby.
