Become A MRI Technologist

MRI scanners use a magnetic field and radio waves (non-invasive) to produce detailed images of the inside of the body that may not be seen with an X-ray, CT scan, or ultrasound. These images are used by physicians to diagnosis diseases and injuries. An MRI technologist operates the MRI scanner and assists and guides patients through the scan. Upon completion of the MRI program, students will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR) exam (required for employment).

Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals.
Follow protocols or regulations for healthcare activities.
Review technical documents to plan work.
Review work orders or schedules to determine operations or procedures.
Create advanced digital images of patients using computer imaging systems.
Analyze information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Program Mission Statement And Goals

The mission and purpose of the EPiC MRI Program is to provide for both the personal and professional career development of each MRI student. The general goals of the program are:

Graduates will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for competency as an entrylevel Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist.
Graduates will exhibit professional growth and development through the values, attitudes and behaviors necessary of an entry-level Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist.
To prepare graduates to demonstrate the ability to apply critical thinking skills and problem solving in their field.
To prepare graduate to communicate effectively and professionally
Graduates will complete the program within the scheduled timeframe with the ability toearn ARRT credentials to successfully work in the field of medical imaging.
