SCIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY CLUB
Our club is about bridging connections between our local environment, the student body, and community. We strive to instill a lasting sense of environmental responsibility and appreciation of nature. We explore issues that threaten the environment as well as modern solutions that allow for the coexistence of humanity and nature. Our theme for the year will be an exploration of historical relationships between humans and nature. We want to better understand how earlier humans managed their natural resources and related to their environment, and how those systems can inform our modern day predicaments. We plan to meet virtually every few weeks to discuss some an on-theme video or podcast, and hope to also embark on some socially distanced regional clean-ups.Contact Info: Dr. Paul Bilinski (Faculty Advisor)

STUDENT SENATE
Student Senate is the voice of the student body at WSCC, and they advocate on behalf of students to provide the best college experience possible. There are a great number of things on campus, such as the disc golf course, that simply would not have been possible without the Senate’s hard work. A key part of the Senate’s advocacy is managing the college’s Student Organizations and Activities Program (SOAP). In this role, the Senate plans student life events of broad appeal and also funds and supports various student clubs. Truly, if there are things you love about West Shore, you can be sure the Senate played a major role in getting those for you! The Senate exists to serve the WSCC student and always welcomes your feedback and input. They meet weekly, and meetings are open to everyone.Contact Info: Annie Jacobson (Staff Advisor)
