Workforce Development

The Workforce Development Division of Applied Arts and Sciences at West Shore Community College has worked closely with business and industry to provide training to businesses desiring to strengthen their regional and economic competitiveness in a wide variety of job skill areas.

Customized Training courses are often referred to as what you want, where you want it, and when you want it.  It is what you want because it is designed in length and substance to fit your needs. It where you want it, because you can choose where you want the class to be held - - at your site, an off-site conference room or on our campus.  It is when you want it because you set the date and the time (day or night) you would like the class taught. Open Entry/ Open Exit (OE/OE)
AND NOW, the Workforce Development Division working with the Technology Division is taking another step to help business and industry by offering Open Entry/ Open Exit (OE/OE) individualized training in several technical skill areas. This type of training delivery breaks training down into skill units called modules. These modules are delivered as one component interactive web-based training that is accessible from the trainee’s home or the company’s training room, and a second component that is real-world, hand’s-on instruction offered in the college’s training labs.  There are no classes as all of this training is self-paced with 4-hour labs held several times a week.  Learn more about OE/OE.
