Criminal Justice - Police Licensure Program

One Year Certificate

Students who already hold at least an Associate’s degree upon entering the second year Academy courses may be eligible for a Certificate in Law Enforcement.  A grade of “C” (2.0) in each of the second year Criminal Justice courses is required for the Certificate.


Students must meet all state standards for pre-service police training to beginning the Certificate courses, and they must meet additional requirements prior to being licensed as a police offer in Michigan.


All students must hold an Associate’s degree or higher upon completion of the academy courses to be eligible for police licensure.

**May be waived if the student holds a current Michigan medical license at the time of graduation. Waivers must be approved individually by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards.
